Back to tell you that I’ve finished Books 2-4 of the ASoIaF series while I’ve been “away”
My very sophisticated reviews:
Clash of Kings: Carries on with the consistent awesome that was the first book. I have no idea whose side I’m supposed to be on in Battle of the Blackwater because Tyrion is the greatest through the whole book as always but everyone knows the Lannisters are a bunch of turdmeisters; could give two shits about Theon and Stannis, also Bran needs to start being interesting; but my ladies of Stark and my Khaleesi are still kicking ass and taking names.
Storm of Swords: Basically perfect in every way. Tyrion is still the greatest, Cersei is Lady Macbethin’ it up (“man, the things I would do if I had a dick”); Jaime unexpectedly overtakes Jorah Mormont’s position as my second favorite male character; Brienne, Sansa, Arya tie for first with Dany quickly dropping because she was kind of a weirdy beardy at the end there; also the character dynamics of JaimexBrienne and JonxYgritte were some of the most fun and interesting things I’ve read in a while; also Sam is a total badass whether he likes it or not; ALSO two of the most epic climactic scenes I’ve ever read, like, ever take place and that’s not something that happens very often
Feast for Crows: Overall, a big, 900-page, only occasionally interesting disappointment with promising cliffhangers@9 months ago with 2 notes
